SUPERBAD PORNO

October 23rd, 2011. Jaya Pub, Thamrin, Jakarta.

Proudly, this is our 3rd SUPERBAD. And this time, with a new formation. As a trio. Officially. So it's a gig which kinda historical for us. Also played on that show is the beautiful JIRAPAH, the energetic PROTOCOL AFRO, and our noisy good friends from MELLONYELLOW.

We played, well, some of Subliminal's songs, some new materials, and even an old song called Ivy. Oh, we also did some covers! The Loop from Morrissey, Scoff from Nirvana, and (of course) Ceremony from New Order. Photo by @pimenpi.

Bangga sekali kami. Ini adalah pentas SUPERBAD kami yang ketiga! Dan kali ini, dengan formasi baru kami sebagai trio. Dan sudah resmi lho! Jadi bisa dibilang ini gig yang agak bersejarah bagi kami hehehe. Oh ya, malam itu juga ada penampilan dari JIRAPAH yang indah, si energik PROTOKOL AFRO, dan teman-teman baik kami yang super berisik dari MELLONYELLOW.

Jadi, malam itu kami memainkan materi dari album debut kami "Subliminal", juga beberapa materi-materi baru, dan bahkan sebuah lagu lawas kami yang berjudul Ivy. Oh, kami juga iseng-iseng mengcover lagu The Loop dari Morrissey, Scoff dari Nirvana, dan (tentu saja) Ceremony dari New Order. Foto oleh @pimenpi.

The Porno live at RollingStone Indonesia Release Party!

This gig was basically the 2nd time we appeared as a trio since our frontman Daniel Hangga was unable to perform due to personal matter. But we decided that the show must go on, because the name already there, our guitar player Pandu Fuzztoni can take on vocal duties so nothing to worry about, and we have to pay the bill, and it's RollingStone Magazine for God sake! Ahahaha.

So we performed for a kind of 30 minutes, played 7 songs.. The 2 of them are our newest material. One of it is still left untitled and we put it as an intro on the beginning before Pandu showed the audiences that he's also can sing with our great performance of "Premature", followed with the energetic "To Get Through a Fence". Then the 2nd new material called "Right" is finally being introduced, which continued by our new noisy version of "So It Goes". We finally closed the performance with the heart-thumping "Introvert" and a rare moment when our frontman-on-duty Pandu Fuzztoni photographed with a good looking LG's sales promotion girl handed him a DVD player. On stage. Right after he put down his guitar.

It was 2 years ago when we finally released our debut album "Subliminal" under the flag of Sinjitos Records. After that date, our life keeps turning, days into months, months into years, friends into foes, babies into kids, girlfriends into exes (or foes or even wives hohoho), and some of us start to wonder do people still even remember our name. Our own local post-punk debut is appeared on the list! Ain't it nice mates? Haha. Uhm well maybe that was just a poll from a radio station, but to be honest, for a suburban kids like us, this thing kinda makes us proud. Absolutely. Being recognized and approved as one of the best (hey we're even make it to the Top 10! LOL) that year, which is on the year "Subliminal" was released really a kind of something to us. At least we're not that lousy after all for some people eh? Haha. And this should be the trigger to our comeback someday mates. Absolutely. Wait for us. We'll be better. And the Indonesian post-punk scene is very much alive.

The Porno - Premature (Live at SMU Gonzaga Jakarta)

Gonzaga is definitely a high school with a serious guts to have invited us to play that night, since the rumor that our name (which contain the word "PORNO") is considered not acceptable for most of a "school gig". God bless 'em. And it was the first song that we played that night; Premature.
